We are community advocates for safety across Bayside.

Safer streets

The Peaceful Bayside Action Group was originally formed in response to the road safety issues in the Bayside LGA (NSW). As community advocates for safer streets, we have seen videos and images of incidents and near misses from residents across Bayside and, where appropriate, passed them on to the relevant authorities. We have heard from residents in distress due to frequent dangerous driving and hooning near their homes. We have successfully lobbied for a noise-activated camera trial, an Australian-first! But there is more to do!

Safer beaches

High-powered Jet Skis on Botany Bay are increasing in number, with some of the worst anti-social and illegal behaviour in the State. This puts swimmers, kayakers, paddlers and other users at risk. Peaceful Bayside successfully lobbied for clearer safety signage and the installation of a CCTV camera at Brighton-Le-Sands. This helps Maritime Authorities monitor unsafe jet ski behavior in real time, allowing for quick action.

Safer playing fields

Peaceful Bayside is committed to protecting our environment now and for future generations. That is why we support the rollout of new, modernised natural turf fields and encourage Bayside Council to monitor scientific data related to the human and environmental impacts of synthetic turf and infil materials.

Safer families

Peaceful Bayside is working with local experts to address domestic violence in Bayside. We strongly advocate for initiatives and programs across the LGA that improve outcomes for women and children experiencing domestic and family violence. We want to see regular events that highlight this issue and will continue to advocate for Council-led community education programs and evidence-based prevention methods.
