SIGN THE ‘KAMAY GREENWAY’ PETITION
Big ideas, brought to life by small actions.
With your support, we can create the Kamay Greenway, a walking and cycling pathway that extends from the newly opened M6 green active transport corridor, which helps link all the green spaces between Kyeemagh and Sans Souci. The Kamay Greenway will unify the district and provide an impressive community amenity, completing a safe 16km walking and cycling 'loop', and connecting in several places with the well-loved shared path along Botany Bay's foreshore.
Kamay Greenway
Imagine a peaceful green corridor from Kyeemagh to Sandringham that connects our community, provides safer walking and cycling routes, and restores nature and our waterways.
Imagine a peaceful green corridor that continues the new M6 Active Transport path to the Sutherland Shire – connecting our community, providing safer walking and cycling routes, and restoring nature and our waterways.
About the Kamay Greenway
-
The Kamay Greenway will unify the district and provide an impressive community amenity, completing a safe 16 km walking and cycling 'loop', flowing directly into the shared path along Botany Bay's foreshore from Kyeemagh to Sandringham.
The new F6 Extension Stage 1 shared path from Kyeemagh to Scarborough Ponds opens in 2025 and will end at AS Tanner Reserve in Monterey. We propose to start extending this connection all the way to the Georges River.
-
We want to regenerate the bushland and parks along the route, protect the local wildlife and improve water quality in the waterways, including fixing flooding and drainage issues.
We have a draft route and are proposing a sensible and non-invasive path that varies in type depending on the landscape, accounting for sensitive natural areas.
The route will pass through AS Tanner Reserve, Leo Smith Reserve, Bona Park, Noel Seiffert Reserve, Equestrian Park, Clareville Reserve, Stan Moses Reserve and Scott Park, running parallel to Bado-Berong Creek.

This is a Peaceful Bayside and Kamay Greenway Working Group joint initiative. We have a clear vision based on similar successful projects brought to life by other councils and the NSW Government. We hope to fund this project via developer contributions from nearby residential density increases, ensuring that new apartments are paired with better-managed green spaces in proximity.
-
Yes! Whilst the Kamay Greenway was a Peaceful Bayside idea, it is joint initiative with the Kamay Greenway Working Group which is made up of interested locals (from all sides of politics), and has ongoing bipartisan support at Council.
In 2025, Councillors from various parties voted to progress the Kamay Greenway via the development of a draft masterplan.
Councillors have also participated in Kamay Greenway Community Walks, to learn about the project and show their support.
The Kamay Greenway Working Group integrated feedback and ideas from Councillors who attended the walks into the recommended draft route and repeated those ideas in their formal submissions to the Draft Scarborough Park Masterplan during the community consultation phase.
-
We have created a petition, put a Notice of Motion to council and advocated strongly for the Kamay Greenway during the Scarborough Park Masterplan community consultation phase. Most of our recommendations for the northern half of the project were taken on board and will be integrated into the detailed design phase. Once there is a clear plan for that section, we will request council prepares a masterplan for the southern section (Ramsgate Road to Captain Cook Bridge).
What is the community saying?
