COMMUNITY EVENTS
HOSTED BY PEACEFUL BAYSIDE
Activate Bayside Ride-Walk:
Sunday 8 September
Join the Peaceful Bayside candidates for Wards 2, 3 and 4 on our Activate Bayside Ride and Walking Tour to advocate for safer streets and improved Active Transport linkages across Bayside.
THE RIDING TOUR will start at Kingsgrove Station at 10:00am on Sunday 8 September and we will ride to key locations in Bexley where bike and walking paths could easily be extended. We'll also ride through an ideal route across Ward 3 for traffic calming, to an historic site in Arncliffe and join up with the Walking Tour in Wolli Creek at 11am.
THE WALKING TOUR starts at Arncliffe Station at 10:30am. Led by Peaceful Bayside Ward 2 candidate David Levinson, Professor of Transport Engineering at Sydney University, we will view potential safe crossing points of the Princes Highway that would increase access to hidden historic heritage in our area that could be made into a green active transport corridor.
Both walks will finish with late brunch at Kal’s Cafe in Cahill Park.
Peaceful Bayside is committed to advocating for more active transport options in Bayside - to help us all be able to walk and ride to shops and green spaces. Improving active transport brings economic, health, environmental and social benefits - it decreases traffic congestion, reduces the need for parking in shopping centres and returns $5 worth of (mainly health benefits) for every $1 invested.
KAMAY GREENWAY WALKS - SERIES
The Kamay Greenway is a proposed nature and active transport corridor connection from the Cooks River to the Georges River, which will extend existing nature and active transport corridors to wind all the way from Arncliffe to Sans Souci. Join one of our community walk to learn more about the Kamay Greenway, and our vision for a better, safer and more connected Bayside.

We already have Bayside Council's support to investigate the Kamay Greenway. Now we need state government support.

In the next term of Council, Peaceful Bayside will advocate to link up more green spaces across Bayside - like the visionary Kamay Greenway - so we can all live better.
